A special glass (Cryolith) is used as a starting material. This was specifically developed for the manufacture of artificial eyes and is only produced in German glassworks.
It offers some essential advantages (see "material comparison" and "the artificial eye").

An optimal adaptation is only possible in the presence of the patient. Only so, can the artificial eye be reproduced to the look like healthy eye in its form, color and aspect.

The glass is heated constantly over a flame during the complete process.

Then follows the drawing of the blood vessels of the Sclera (veins). It is always observed that there is an even fusion of the glass. This is very important for the structure of the surface so that the surface is consequently free from every elevation.

The other is called the "one-sided".

The finished artificial eye.
There are no limits in its form and size. All prosthesis differ amongst themselves because in each case they were individually manufactured for their wearer.
